Dharmaraja News
Sylvestrians keep their distance

Good sixties from Sachintha Senanayake and Dulaj Bandara gave the Rajans the impetus to challenge the Sylvetrian total of 281-9. However, the Sylvestrians were able to bowl them out forty runs short.

Number six batsman Sachintha Senanayake kept up his consistency with a 92-ball innings of 64. Bandara’s 67 contained 11 fours. Stumper Kavindu Tillekeratne, with 39, and Deshan Gunasinghe, 26, also contributed towards the Rajan total.

Off-spinner Vinod Yasintha topped the bowling with figures of 4-80. Left-arm Tusith Soysa and skipper Manuja Perera ended up with three apiece.

The Sylvestrians didn’t fare all that well in their second innings being reduced to 70-5. Kavindu Munaweera was the one bright spot with 28.
