Trinity gained their first win, while Dharmaraja suffered their first loss when the two teams battled it out at the Asgiriya Stadium.
Trinity’s big guns – skipper Sanogeeth, Boyagoda and seamer Thisaru Dilshan – boomed.
It appeared that the Rajans were not primed for action.
A total of 422 for six put untold pressure on the boys from Lake View. Their reply was a modest 90 which put them 332 in arrears.
Skipper Deshan Gunasinghe continued his run of form with a fighting 70 which contained 11 fours and a six. Udantha Amarakoon, Gihan Vitharana and Nivantha Herath (the latter in both innings) showed a semblance of fight.
However, superb bowling by Thisaru Dilshan (13.5-3-31-8) led to the decimation. Dilshan picked up a further two wickets for match figures of ten for 54.
Trinity 422 for six declared in 72 overs
