A cracking innings of 42 off 22 balls from hard hitting Bhavantha Udangamuwa helped Dharmaraja gallop to a ten wicket win over Sri Rahula, Katugastota in their under 17 match played at Police Grounds.
Rain after lunch almost put paid to Rajans hopes. However, the match restarted 4.30 p.m. on the Parabola System. The target was 52, which was achieved with the minimum fuss.
Earlier, the Sri Rahula openers had batted well to put on 43 before Madushan Parnavithana lost his wicket. The other opener Malith Rajapaksa batted very well to top score with 30. Three batsmen were run out, one of them in a very silly fashion. The middle order could not get on top of the spin attck which was headed by Lakshitha Weerasinghe (3-20) and Rukmal Dissanayake (2-16).
