The Rajan under-17s scored their second and third wins in the tournament when they comfortably beat St. Mary’s College, Kegalle and trounced Sri Rahula on their home turf at Lake View.
Skipper Deeshan Gunasinghe (72) and Hasitha Rajapakse (72 n.o.) laid the foundation for a biggish Rajan total of 256-9.
The Kegalle lads had the satisfaction of not being bowled out, even though they fell short by 101 runs. Kulasinghe (37 n.o.) Deshantha (33) and Senadheera (31) all made important contributions. Rajapakse also bagged three wickets to go with his unbeaten 72.

Opener Ruchira Pupulewatte struck a superb 150 (121 balls, 28 fours) to propel the Rajans to a mammoth score of 352-7 against Sri Rahula.
Though not without blemish Pupulewatte batted correctly and aggressively for his runs. Skipper Gunasinghe, Mirantha Heratha and Dheera Adikara produced good supporting knocks.
In reply, the Sri Rahula lads, who could not adjust to the turf, were bundled out for a meager 29 and lost by 323 runs. This could be one of the biggest margins of victory.
Skipper Guasinghe had the best figures of 4-10 while Pupulewatte complimented his batting with a bag of 3-7
