It was Kingswood all the way as they attacked in droves and reduced the young Rajan side to near helplessness. In the process they notched up 50 points – five goals three tires as against Dharmaraja’s ten – one goal one penalty at Bogambara.
At the break, the winners were in front 19-10. But Kingswood increased pace and the heat late in the second half to run in four tries.
Fly half Asela Wijesinghe had a good game kicking well and also opening up the game. However, he had a tendency to go solo every now and again to the possible detriment of his team. This was a well orchestrated performance by the forwards and the back division. The team played together and showed great commitment and determination.
The back division handled the ball well and ran even better.
Asela Wijesinghe, N.C. D. Seneviratne, N.C.P. Kumara, Udagalahitiyawa, Paranagama, Asela Weerasekara and Athigodage touched down for the winners.
The skipper Asela Wijesinghe made the five conversions.
The Rajan fly half small made Nekathge and the burly number eight Adhikari were the players who stood out for the losers. The latter scored the only try for Dharmaraja while full back Kumara added the extra points
