Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya registered a rare innings and four runs victory over Dharmaraja College, Kandy as they restricted the visitors to 136 runs in the second innings in their Under-19 cricket encounter ended at Pannipitiya yesterday.
Commencing from the overnight score of 165 for three wickets the home team posted 293 runs thanks largely to a fourth wicket stand of 114 runs between overnight batsmen Himasha Liyanage and Vimukthi Radella who both scored half centuries.
When Dharmaraja came to bat for the second time Tharindu Maduwantha completed a match bag of seven wickets with a three-wicket haul, while Pasindu Keshan and Kushan Jayalath shared seven wickets between them to seal the win.
