Dharmaraja U 17 Cricket team has done well to enter the Knckout Round of the Under 17 Tournament for Sri Lanka Schools, this year.
Kandy is making a strong presence in the knockout stage with four teams, Trinity, Dharmaraja, St. Anthony’s and St. Sylvester’s making it to the business end of the tourney. Kingswood and Vidyartha had failed to make it.
The teams who have advanced to the knockout stage are: Royal (Colombo), Trinity, St. Sylvester’s, St. Anthony’s (Kandy), Debarawewa NS, Thurstan, Moratu Vid, St. Sebastian’s (Moratuwa), St. Joseph’s (Darley Road), Dharmaraja (Kandy), S. Thomas’ (Mount), St. Peter’s (Bambalapitiya), St. Benedict’s (Kotahena), Lumbini, St. Anthony’s (Wattala) and Richmond (Galle)
Last year finalists Ananda College and Royal College, Panadura are among the established schools who have failed to advance to the knockout stage. From Colombo, D.S. Senanayake is the other notable team to have failed to advance. So are Nalanda, St. Joseph's Dharmapala and Mahinda and Dharmasoka.
