Hewavitharana Dharmapala (29) later to be world renowned as the Anagarika Dharmapala is seen in the picture in full white dress ( 4th from left)
He represented "Southern Buddhism" - which was the term applied at that time to Theravada Buddhism at the first World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.
On his right is the well known Swami Vivekananda ( 3rd from left in the picture) who represented Hinduism at the first World Parliament of Religions.
Virachand Raghav Gandhi (1864 - 1901) ( 5th from left) from Mahuva represented Jainism at the first World Parliament of Religions and won a silver medal. Gandhi was most likely the first Jain & First Gujarati to travel to the United States and his statue still stands at the Jain temple in Chicago. In his time he was a world famous personality.
He is also called the 'Forgotten Gandhi' and an ' Unsung Hero'
