Skipper Abhishek Anandakumara led from the front, stroking a 79 ball knock of 83, as Trinity beat Dharmaraja by 122 runs in their Under 17 Division one match played at Asgiriya. This was their fifth win in as many games.
Anandakumar stroked eight fours and two sixes in his attractive innings which helped put his team in an unassailable position. Dinitha Siriwardena and Shane Gunatilleka helped boost the total.
Off spinner Yasith Samararatne was the pick of bowlers with 3-40. Thisan Herath had two.
The Rajans folded up badly in the face of some penetrative bowling by pacie Pasan Kularatne and spinners Pasan Ganegoda and Umder Raizan. Dhanuka Marasinghe top-scored with 22, while Yasith Samaratne 19 had a decent double.
With this convincing win Trinity proved that they are the best team in their group.
